Tesla has lowered the prices of its cars in European countries

reduced prices by around 8%

US electric car maker Tesla has cut the prices of its Model Y vehicles in Germany and some other European countries. Tesla already discounted its Model Y and Model 3 cars in China a week ago.

In Germany, for example, the company has cut the price of the Model Y Performance by 5,000 euros to 55,990 euros, or about eight percent, according to Reuters. Tesla has also cut prices in France, the Netherlands and Norway.

Figures from the Federal Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA) showed that Tesla's sales in Germany fell by nine per cent last year to 63,685 vehicles. Tesla has thus been replaced at the top of the German market for pure electric cars by domestic brand Volkswagen.
