Opening an account

  1. Minimum age 18 years (we will require proof of identity)

We do not charge a fee for maintaining the account.

An ID card or passport and your bank account statement are required to open a business account. The document must not be older than 3 months. It is also important that all photos show all 4 corners of the document.

You can open 3 different types of accounts on the platform:

  1. Real shares account - an investment account where you become a co-owner of shares with purchasing power equal to your deposit.
  2. Margin account - this is not a cash account, but a margin account. It gives you the option of triple the purchasing power of your invested funds, but you are still buying physical shares just as you would with a cash Real Shares account.

Account verification consists of several steps.

  1. First, you will take a short test to assess your knowledge and experience of investing.
  2. After the test has been evaluated, your documents will be checked. ID and a bank statement are required. Facial biometrics is also part of the verification.  
  3. Once you have successfully completed these steps, your verification will be processed, this usually takes place within 2 hours during business days.
  4. You can then transfer the capital to your trading sub-account after signing the contract. The capital is processed by the next day, and then you can start trading. Your account will be verified and ready for trading within 2 hours during business days.

With Private Brokers it is possible to trade a range of instruments including stocks, indices or ETFs.

The minimum deposit into a Private Brokers trading account is EUR 500.

Yes, cancellation of your account is free of any fees.

Yes, you must record income from capital markets in the other income box on your tax return. Only the net profit is taxed, less the surcharge.

Capital gains derived from exchange-traded investments are not taxable in the Slovak Republic from 1 January 2016 if the position in the investment is held for more than one year. Dividend income is subject to the normal tax regime, as is capital gains arising from investments held for less than one year. The taxation of income from each investment depends on the particular circumstances of each client.

We are a regulated financial institution and our clients' assets are protected by the Investment Guarantee Fund up to EUR 50,000. In the case of client deposits with the bank, client funds are protected up to EUR 100,000 by the Deposit Protection Fund.

Privatebrokers

Účet je možné zrušiť priamo v klientskej zóne. Prejdete na ikonu v pravom hornom rohu Váš profil -> Nastavenia -> Zrušenie účtu -> Požiadať o zrušenie účtu. Pred zrušením je potrebné, aby ste:

  • Nemali žiadne nevysporiadané pokyny
  • Na účte mali iba finančnú hotovosť

Po potvrdení „Žiadosti o zrušenie účtu“ SMS kódom začína plynúť výpovedná lehota v trvaní 30 dní. Po uplynutí 30 dní Vám budú zablokované prístupy do aplikácie.

In the client area in the top right corner you will find a menu with a link to your profile. Here you will find the "Banking Information" section in which you click on the edit button.

Cancellation or change of bank account must be reported to support@privatebrokers.sk

A new credit card must be provided and the change must be addressed at support@privatebrokers.sk

When you open an account, you choose the currency in which the account will be held. Once the account is created, you cannot change the currency. If you want to change the currency, you need to create a new account where you can choose a different currency. Once set up, you can easily transfer funds from one account to another. However, it may not be necessary to change the currency of the account. We recommend that you open an account in the currency in which you plan to send funds. This is because purchases on the stock exchange are made at the bank's mid exchange rate and therefore there is no currency conversion.

Yes, it is possible to create several investment accounts in the Private Brokers platform and each of them has its own client ID.

If you do not find a particular stock or ETF you would like to trade in our offering, please contact us at support@privatebrokers.eu. We will check the availability of the desired instrument and, if possible, include it in our offer of tradable assets.

The option to trade fractional shares applies to selected companies. Fractional trading is only available for US stocks, while European stocks and ETFs are only tradable as whole pieces. For a list of available titles, please refer to our trading platform.

    The order to withdraw your funds from your Private Brokers trading account takes place immediately and the money is usually credited to your bank account within 3 days.

    The funds are credited to your trading account usually by the next business day and are ready for use in the trading platform the very next day.
