American carmaker Tesla on Thursday (30.11.2023) unveiled its new electric pickup truck, the Cybertruck. It's the first new model in four years. According to information on the automaker's website, the estimated price of the base version of the vehicles starts at $60,990.
However, it will not be available until 2025. Next year, two more expensive versions should reach customers for $79,990 and $99,990. The site states that this is a price estimate.
For the more expensive $79,990 All-Wheel Drive version, the automaker promises a range of up to 550 miles. The vehicle is said to be able to carry more than a ton of cargo and tow a load weighing roughly five tons.
With Cybertruck, Tesla is entering the segment of the U.S. auto market that generates the most profits, according to the AP. It is doing so with a lag to major rival automakers Ford and General Motors, which have already unveiled their electric-powered pickup trucks.
