US exchange regulator approves 11 bitcoin spot ETFs

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has granted approval to launch 11 exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on the bitcoin spot rate. This was reported by Reurters, which calls it a watershed moment for the cryptocurrency industry.

The funds in question open up the cryptocurrency market to millions more retail and large investors and could attract billions of dollars in investment. The main goal of bitcoin spot ETFs is to simplify the investment process for individuals who are interested in cryptocurrency but either cannot or do not want to acquire it, or are reluctant to deal with the technical side of mining, owning and trading bitcoin.

Bitcoin ETFs have the advantage of operating within a comprehensive regulatory framework that ensures investor protection and market stability while bridging the gap between traditional finance and the cryptocurrency market.
